Movies

Everybody likes movies of one sort or another. Women tend to enjoy more emotional, character-driven dramas; guys like lots of blood & guts with things blowing up. Most people enjoy a good comedy. My own tastes go in different directions, but right now I'm tending to seek out older, more marginalized features, such as lower-budget or foreign films. Modern American movies all look and sound alike to me - and while I love some modern film series (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter) and filmmakers (Tim Burton, Wes Anderson), a good 98% of what's out there seems to be crap. So, I seek out the older, the foreign, the overlooked and the unusual. You can read about some interesting movies of the past in this section. [Note: Japanese films are covered in the Japan section.]
